PM Kusum Yojana: Do you know that the government is giving subsidy to farmers for installing solar pumps? Under the Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana, small and marginal farmers are getting financial help to install solar pumps. Mainly small and marginal farmers can take advantage of this scheme. Apart from this, farmers’ groups, cooperatives, water user associations and farmer producer organizations can also apply under this scheme.
Farmers can run irrigation pumps by installing solar panels on barren land and earn income by selling surplus electricity. Solar panels will last for 25 years and farmers, cooperatives and other groups can avail of them under the Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana.
Under the PM Kusum Yojana, financial and technical assistance is provided to farmers so that they can use solar pumps and solar energy systems in their farming.
